Parks, museums, shopping, nightlife, casinos, UW Tacoma, and University of Puget Sound, Tacoma has something for everyone. Throughout the city you'll find many smaller neighborhood communities filled with hidden gems of specialty shops and locally owned restaurants. Of the many parks in Tacoma, Point Defiance Park is where you'll find the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Fort Nisqually Living History Museum, an off leash dog area, marina, multiple gardens, trails, Owens Beach, and the scenic Five Mile Drive. The nearby Ruston Way is another popular location that spans about 2 miles. Throughout the entire strip you'll find restaurants, grassy areas, and fishing docks; at one end of the Ruston Way is the newer Point Ruston, with a theater, boutiques, and more eateries. For rainy days with kids there is the Tacoma Children's Museum, where they can paint and play indoors. This city is also home to the Tacoma Dome, which hosts concerts and year-round. Tacoma also has a museum district, featuring Tacoma Art Museum, Washington State History Museum, and the Museum of Glass. There is also the W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory displaying exotic plants, in Wrights Park and the Lemay Car Museum, near the Tacoma Dome.
