Sitting South of Seattle and just North of Tacoma is Federal Way. This city features a large variety of dining and shopping options. Federal Way is also home to theaters, numerous parks, and some great sandy beaches. One beach option great for swimming, fishing, skim boarding, and beach-combing is Dash Point State Park; which has campgrounds, miles of hiking/biking trails, and 3301 ft of shoreline. For swimmers the Weyerhaeuser/King County Aquatic Center, features an Olympic sized competition/training natatorium and a pirate cove themed recreation pool. On the other hand, the Performing Arts and Event Center keeps live performance fans busy with ballet, theater, acrobats, symphony, and everything in between. During the Summer there is Saturday farmers markets with an on-site master gardener, fresh produce, live music, and artists. Or head over to Wild Waves Theme Park; A local favorite, with thrill rides, kids rides, water slides, etc. Wild Waves also hosts seasonal events around the holidays.
